THE state weather bureau is tracking a low pressure area in the Visayas.

The LPA was last observed 470 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Wednesday afternoon.

Weather bureau Samuel Duran said the LPA is already bringing light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol region, Caraga and the provinces of Quezon, Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Pagasa will keep monitoring the LPA as it may intensify into a tropical cyclone. This will be determined after it has crossed the West Philippine Sea by Friday, Duran said.
