Gigi Reyes fears being with nine NPA rebels, appeals transfer to Bicutan jail
MANILA, Philippines–Atty. Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes, former chief of staff of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, asked the Sandiganbayan to reconsider its decision transferring her to Camp Bagong Diwa for fear of her life due to presence of nine female members of the New People’s Army (NPA).
Upon her transfer Wednesday evening to Camp Bagong Diwa, Reyes was informed during a briefing and before the panic attack that the Female Dormitory has in its custody nine female NPA members.
In her five-page motion for reconsideration, Reyes, through her counsel Atty. Anacleto Diaz said the NPA members are “hostile and antagonistic to Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, who was the Miniater of Defense during the regime of former President Ferdinand Marcos and former principal and co-accused in the instant case.”
“The detention of accused Reyes at the Female dormitory of Camp Bagong Diwa with the NPA detainees, who accused Reyes will have to mingle in the common areas, poses security risks to her life and has caused her fear and contributed to her anxiety,” the motion further stated.
Reyes was taken to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital after suffering seizure early morning Thursday.

Reyes said she preferred to be detained at the PNP Custodial Center which is near the PNP General Hospital.
The motion stated that due to the distance of Camp Bagong Diwa to the hospital, her seizure continued and her blood pressure shoot up.
