Aquino to inspect electronics factories on Labor Day

Manila, Philippines — President Benigno Aquino III will spend Labor Day (May 1) with workers of electronics and semiconductor factories in Laguna.

“Upon the invitation of DOLE Sec. Rosalinda D. Baldoz and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) Director-General Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva, he will attend a series of events in Laguna, where the revitalization of our manufacturing sector has been most evident in recent years,” Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said earlier in the week.

Aquino will first visit Testech, Inc., electronics manufacturer, in Calamba City where he will be welcomed by Baldoz, Villanueva, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) Director General Lilia de Lima, National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) Director General Arsenio Balisacan, and Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc. (Seipi) President Dan Lachica.

He will then visit the factory of Alliance Mansols, Inc. before proceeding to the Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. (IMI) in Biñan City.

At IMI, he will speak before Tesda officials and scholars.
