Estrada asks to be excused from Senate PDAF investigation

MANILA, Philippines – Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada on Thursday asked the Senate blue ribbon committee to excuse himself from the day’s hearing on the alleged anomalies involving the Priority Development Assistance Fund.

“I feel compelled to excuse myself from participating in these proceedings… My presence may be perceived as impeding the free-flowing discussions among the participants here,” he said.

Estrada said he has always been at the forefront of such legislative investigation and that he was one with the public in the need to discuss the PDAF or pork barrel scam and in eventually “righting wrongs.” Kristine Angeli Sabillo from inquirer.net
