Teenager slashes lover’s neck

A 21-year-old woman was wounded after her 17-year-old partner tried to slash her neck in barangay Lower Pakigne, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Mariel May Abad was rushed to the South General Hospital in Naga City with a deep slash wound in the right side of the neck.

Police said the woman couldn’t speak well because of the wound. She was able to write the name of his boyfriend  as the perpetrator  and why she was attacked.

The teenager was nowhere to be found after the attack  happened past 4 p.m. on Friday.

Police said the woman tried to end their relationship but the young man refused and attacked her with a knife.

The couple had been living together in the house of the boy’s parents until their relationship turned sour, said PO2 Nikki Carlo Plarisan of the Minglanilla police.

Police said the boy’s mother rushed to the back of the house after hearing a commotion and found a wounded Abad.

A follow-up operation is in progress to arrest the boy, said police./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
