Borbon inmate recaptured three years after escape
A man was rearrested three years after he bolted from jail in Borbon, northern Cebu.
Edison Cabahug, who is facing drug charges, was shot and wounded after he allegedly tried to resist arrest yesterday afternoon.
PO2 Bernardino Almeda of the Borbon police station said they received a call from a concerned citizen that Cabahug was spotted having a drinking session along the shore in barangay Tagnucan.
PO2 Almeda said after they arrived in the area, Cabahug saw them.
Cabahug ran and fled aboard a motorized banca.
Policemen rode a separate motorized banca and chased the other banca boarded by Cabahug.

Article continues after this advertisementAlemeda said Cabahug allegedly tried to grab his .45 pistol that forced him to shoot him in the right leg.
Cabahug was taken to the Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Sogod town. He was later picked up by Chief Insp. Romeo Mananzala, investigator of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC).
