Fire Officer 1 John Paul Caneda, arson investigator, said the cats were trapped inside the house and the dog died from inhaling the massive fumes.
Two other dogs, a pug and a shih tzu, sustained burns on their bodies and are now being treated in Davao City.
A staff of the veterinary clinic said the dogs “are suffering chills and sometimes have seizures.”
The Bureau of Fire Protection pegged the damage at over P700,000, accounting for the personal belongings and appliances lost. /jpv
