P802-M shabu abandoned along Bataan shoreline found

MANILA, Philippines – Central Luzon police officers seized 118 kilograms of shabu (crystal meth), valued at P802,400,000, abandoned along the shoreline of Mariveles, Bataan on Thursday.
In an interview with dzRH, Regional Director Brig. Gen. Rogelio Peñones shared that a concerned citizen saw the six sacks suspected to contain shabu.

Responders were sent to the shoreline of Sisiman and Alas-asin, Mariveles where the suspected shabu was found.
“The shabu was abandoned here at a rocky area near the lighthouse, here in Mariveles. Almost no people pass by here, and no ships come close either,” Peñones said in Filipino.

Bataan fishermen previously found and surrendered 10 sacks containing 222 kilos of suspected shabu valued at P1.5 billion back in June. It was found floating around the waters of West Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales.
Peñones said that the 118 kilos of shabu might have been from the packs found in Zambales.
He noted that the two sets of packed shabu had similar markings.
“These have the same markings, with “99” written on them, and the usual Chinese tea bags that we’ve seen in our previous records,” he told dzRH.

Several packs of illegal drugs were reported to have been found in the waters off Ilocos Region and Central Luzon this year, including suspected shabu with a street value of P10 billion intercepted by the Philippine Navy in late June. /das
