3 weather systems to bring rains across PH

MANILA, Philippines – Three weather systems will cause rain throughout the country on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to shear lines will prevail across the Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, and Aurora.

The same weather conditions will prevail in Caraga due to easterlies.

The easterlies will also cause rains in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and Calabarzon.

The weather bureau warned that moderate to heavy rains in the abovementioned areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

The northeast monsoon will also cause isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon, while the easterlies will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao, likely in the afternoon or evening.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms, based on Pagasa’s 4 a.m. advisory.

Meanwhile, strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas are forecast in Northern and Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail across Mindanao.
