Man shot dead during drinking spree in Cavite

LUCENA CITY — A man was gunned down on Wednesday, June 12, while on a drinking spree in Tanza, Cavite.

In a spot report Thursday, the Region 4A police said Rommel Gonzalez was in a drinking session with his two brothers in front of their house in Barangay Calibuyo around 9:45 p.m.

Suddenly, a male motorcyclist arrived and repeatedly shot Gonzales with a handgun. He died while on the way to a local hospital. The suspect fled and was being hunted.

The report did not provide further information on the victim.

Police said an “old grudge” was a possible motive behind the killing but did not elaborate.
