LUCENA — A 74-year-old farmer died early Thursday, June 13, after a cargo truck bumped him at the Maharlika Highway in Calauag, Quezon.

The Quezon police said in a report that Elpidio Dayao was walking on the side of the road when a Hino Wing Van driven by an alias “Dolfo”, 39, hit him around 2:30 a.m. in Barangay Viñas.

Dayao, a resident of the village, died on the way to the hospital from fatal body injuries.
