Over P240,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized from 3 suspects in Bicol buy-busts
LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities arrested three suspected drug personalities and recovered more than P240,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in the provinces Albay and Camarines Sur on Monday and Tuesday (March 13 and 14).
In Camarines Sur, Senior Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said Ranilo Amelano, 31, was arrested for selling a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover agent in Barangay (village) Peñafrancia at around 1:05 a.m. on Tuesday.
Bongon said a total of three sachets of shabu worth P8,840 were confiscated from the suspect.
In Iriga City, Nolasto Camila, 37, was also arrested in Barangay San Roque at around 11:45 p.m. on Monday.
Colonel Julius Caesar Domingo, Camarines Sur police chief, said seized during the operation was 21 grams shabu worth P30,000.
Article continues after this advertisementLieutenant Kharren Formales, Albay police spokesperson, said in a report that Emelita Boton, 43, was also arrested in Barangay Zone 3 in Libon town at around 5:45 p.m.

The arrested suspects were facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
