P8.8-million crystal meth seized from 3 suspects
MANILA, Philippines — Some P8.8 million worth of crystal methamphetamine or “shabu” were seized from three drug suspects in separate operations on Monday.
Police arrested a drug suspect in Barangay Katipunan, Quezon City, who yielded P7.1 million worth of shabu.
The suspect, Ian Torres, 37, a resident of Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, was arrested along FPJ Avenue during a buy-bust operation.
In Makati City, authorities arrested suspects Angeline Claire Nacua and Choi Sol, a Korean national, and seized some P1.7 million worth of shabu in a controlled delivery operation also on Monday.
The suspects were nabbed at 5:30 p.m. at a condo unit along Nicanor Garcia Street, Bel-Air, Makati City.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to a police report, a parcel declared as an “antique French phone” was consigned to Nacua from a certain Bleu Griotte of Marceau Leandres 17 Grande Rue 69110 Ste Foy Les Lyon, France.
The package contained a foil pouch with 255 grams of shabu, styrofoam fillers, and a bubble-wrapped antique phone.
