Peñalosa brothers to test skills anew on April 21 at Mandaue Cultural and Sports Complex

Dodie Boy Peñalosa Jr. and older brother Dave are set to return to the ring this April 21 for the fifth installment of the Dugong Kampeon boxing series at the Mandaue Cultural and Sports Complex at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Dodie Boy Jr. won over SuperJames Singmanasak of Thailand via first-round technical knockout in the main event of Dugong Kampeon IV in Caloocan City last January to improve his bantamweight record to eight wins without a loss. All victories were by way of  knockouts.

Dodie Boy Jr. is set to face Indonesian Alex Buckie for a non-title 122-lb bout in the main event.

Buckie sports a record of 13-25-6  (win-loss-draw) with seven  KOs.

FEATURED STORIES

Dave, on the other hand, will face Jr Salvador of Mandaue City for six rounds. Dave has a record of two wins and no loss.

In the main supporting bout, GAB featherweight champion Michael Fareñas (33 wins-3 losses 26 KOs) will try to extend his winning streak to seven as he faces Cebuano Jayson Egera (16-7, win-loss) in a non-title bout.

Egera lost to former WBO Asia Pacific youth superflyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas last August 2011.

Another attraction in the main supporting bout duel between Renren Ruiz and Cebuano Joebert Alvarez under the 108lb division.

Other bouts include Cebu City’s Raymond Empic facing Mandaue’s Rommel Bangirigo, Ryan Maano taking on Sony Katiangdagho, Jhack Tepora of Omega Stable squaring off against Sherwin Caday of Mandaue City  and Manila’s Jayson Borleo fighting  Cebuano Ryan Quimbo.

Jhon Kenan Villaflor will go up against Manila’s Andrew Palas, Cebu’s Margarito Muya and Manila’s Roel Sumabong will provide action in the second bout while Albert Gonzales provides the action in the opening bout against an unannounced opponent.
