Weekly COVID-19 cases in Ilocos region drop
LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte — The weekly number of COVID-19 cases in the Ilocos region dropped during the last week of October compared with the previous week, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, Nov. 3.
At least 238 new COVID-19 cases were logged from Oct. 23 to Oct. 29, reflecting an average of 34 patients per day.
DOH data showed that the average daily number of cases was 24.9 percent lower than the 317 tallied between Oct. 16 and 22.
Of the 238 new cases, none had been tagged as severe or critical.
The regional DOH also verified at least nine deaths due to the virus during the same period.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of Oct. 29, the healthcare utilization rate in the region remained at a “safe” level, with 38 of the 223 intensive care unit beds for COVID-19 patients occupied.
