3, including son of town mayor, fall in anti-drug operation in San Carlos
BACOLOD CITY — Three persons, including the son of a town mayor, were arrested in a drug bust in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17.
Nestor Aburido Era Jr., 40; Chito Carasaqui Atienza, 46; and Rosalia Nemenzo, 60 did not resist arrest.
Lt. Ruby Aurita, deputy chief of San Carlos City Police Station, said Era is the son of Calatrava Mayor Marilyn Era.
The mayor could not be reached for comment yet.
The San Carlos police led by Lt. Col. Jesus Mesahon conducted a buy-bust operation against Atienza and arrested him after he sold a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.
Article continues after this advertisementSeized in the operation were 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at P 102,000, the buy-bust money amounting to P600, and other paraphernalia, Aurita said.
