Man falls to death from NAIA building

UPDATED MANILA, Philippines —A bystander fell to his death from the departure level at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday past noon, as confirmed by police.

According to a report from the National Capital Region Police Office, the man fell 40 feet from the departure level in front of Falcon Base, Airport Police Department at the West Departure Area of NAIA Terminal 1, Pasay City, at 12:30 p.m.

Officers immediately responded to the area and called for medical assistance.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) medical team then arrived and performed life-saving measures at around 12:40 p.m. before rushing the injured person to Pasay City General Hospital.

Meanwhile, the MIAA in a statement on Thursday night said that it “commiserates with the family of a 26-year old male.”

MIAA police said that the victim was rushed by the MIAA Medical team to Pasay City General Hospital at 1:14 p.m. where he was then declared dead at 2:45 p.m.
