Sara Duterte still leads Pulse Asia’s March survey for VP

MANILA, Philippines — Vice presidential bet and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio widened her lead over Senate President Vicente Sotto III in the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Wednesday.
In the survey conducted from March 17 to 21, Duterte-Carpio captured 56 percent of the respondents’ votes — an increase of three percentage points compared to her score in the February edition of the survey.
Sotto, on the other hand, lost four percentage points, going down from 24 percent in February to 20 percent in March.
The surveys further showed that Duterte-Carpio still won big in her bailiwick Mindanao, with 83 percent of respondents picking her. She also won in all other locales — 56 percent in Metro Manila, 44 percent in Balance Luzon, and 50 percent in Visayas.
In contrast, Sotto only managed to get 24 percent in Metro Manila, 22 percent over the rest of Luzon, 26 percent in Visayas, and eight percent in Mindanao.
Behind Duterte-Carpio and Sotto is Senator Francis Pangilinan with 15 percent, physician Doc Willie Ong with five percent, and Buhay party-list Rep. Lito Atienza with one percent.
