Misamis Occidental gov tests positive for SARS-CoV-2
ILIGAN CITY — Misamis Occidental Gov. Philip Tan has admitted that he tested positive for SARS-CoV2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
In a social media post, Tan said he started sneezing on Thursday and had a slight fever on Friday, hence immediately underwent an antigen test.
When the antigen test returned positive, he was subjected to a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test, which also returned positive.
Tan had since gone into self-isolation.
Tan’s wife, Tangub City Mayor Jennifer Tan, had a negative result during an antigen test.
