San Pablo City mayor, wife, contract COVID-19
LUCENA CITY–The mayor of San Pablo City in Laguna province and his wife have contracted SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19.
In a message Saturday on the Facebook page of the City Information Office, Mayor Loreto Amante announced that he and his wife Madette tested positive for the virus but were both asymptomatic.
However, Amante said he would perform his duties as the city mayor by working from home.
He said he and his wife were feeling fine after being fully vaccinated and having booster shots against COVID-19.
Amante urged residents to continue observing COVID-19 health protocols.
Article continues after this advertisementOn Friday, the City Health Office and its Anti-COVID-19 Task Force, in its bulletin, reported 31 new COVID-19 cases.

San Pablo, a part of Laguna province, will be placed under Alert Level 3 from Jan. 9 to 15, amid the alarming increase of COVID-19 cases in the country.
