Isko Moreno signs P22.2 billion Manila city gov’t budget for 2022
MANILA, Philippines — Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso signed on Monday, November 29, the city government’s budget for 2022 worth P22.2 billion.
Domagoso said that about 53.86 percent of the total budget is allocated for the social services of the local government. Social services include: healthcare, education, social amelioration, and food security program.
“Tao muna ang mauna sa Maynila sa 2022,” the Mayor said.
“Nilakihan natin yung portion para makaramdam ang taong bayan sa Lungsod ng Maynila na may gobyerno sa Maynila, na may masasandalan silang gobyerno sa Maynila,” he added.
Joining Domagoso during the signing were Manila City Vice Mayor Doktora Honey Lacuna, City Budget Officer Atty. Grace Chua, Cong. Yul Servo-Nieto, and members of the city council.

Article continues after this advertisement“We will be more vigilant. We will continue to be efficient in expenditures and we will find ways as much as possible to give free and better healthcare for each and everyone not only for COVID-19 but for all other diseases,” he added.
Domagoso noted that despite the pandemic, budget allocation of the city government continued to record an increase. To recall, about P17.8 billion was allocated in 2020, while P20 billion budget in 2021.
The Mayor then thanked the public for their continuous trust in the Manila City government as he assured that it will continue to ramp up its efforts to balance the life and livelihood of the people.
“The city government is always certain with our direction – life and livelihood – ‘yun ang direction natin sa 2022 at patuloy tayo maghahanda,” Domagoso said.
