MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan City police confiscated more than P23 million worth of shabu, a slang for illegal drug methamphetamine or crystal meth, and arrested four people during a buy-bust operation on Thursday morning.

In a report on Thursday evening, the Northern Police District (NPD) identified the suspects as alias “Abdul”, a 41-year-old vendor from Bulacan; alias “Oding”, a 40-year-old construction worker; alias “Vics”, 33; and alias “Tata”, 39.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said in a statement that “Abdul” is a “high-value” individual.

NPD added that the three other suspects are residents of Caloocan City.

The NCRPO also said that law enforcers seized eight plastic sachets said to contain 3,420 grams of shabu, valued at P23,256,000, during the operation.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said in a statement that among the arrested suspects was a “high-value” individual, whose name it opted to withhold.

The NCRPO also said that law enforcers seized 3,420 grams of shabu, valued at P23,256,000, during the operation.

Operatives from the NPD-Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency led the drug sting along King Faisal Street in Barangay 188, Caloocan City, early Thursday.

The four arrested suspects will face complaints for violating the Dangerous Drugs Act on the possession and sale of illicit substances, according to the NCRPO.

“This is only the first of many more high-profile anti-drug operations [that] we will consistently launch in Metro Manila in adherence to our uncompromising stance against the evils of the illegal drug menace,” NCRPO Director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said in a statement.
