PH logs 5,807 new COVID-19 cases — DOH

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday logged 5,807 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s caseload to 2,751,667.

Of the total number of cases, 63,051 or 2.3 percent of all cases are active, but 84.2 percent of them have mild or no symptoms.

The total number of recoveries is now at 2,647,031 after 9,578 patients recover from the new coronavirus.

There were also 65 new deaths to bring the total number of fatalities to 41,585.

The DOH noted that 29 duplicates were also removed from the total case count including 27 recoveries.

“Moreover, 51 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH added.

Meanwhile, the global infection now stands at 243 million including 4.9 million deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University Case Tracker.
