Over 5,000 households, communities in PH under granular lockdown — PNP
MANILA, Philippines — More than 5,000 households nationwide were placed under granular lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic as of Thursday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Friday.
PNP’s latest data showed that 5,043 households and communities nationwide were placed under granular lockdown, affecting 18,821 individuals in 310 barangays.
In Metro Manila, the total number of areas under granular lockdown is down to 102 from 105.
Of the 102 areas under granular lockdown, 54 are houses, 33 are residential buildings, eight subdivisions and villages and one residential floor, according to PNP.
The alert level system was implemented in other areas in the country on Wednesday, October 20, after its pilot implementation in Metro Manila back in September.
