Gun-for-hire group ‘leader’ falls in Batangas
LUCENA CITY––A 70-year-old alleged leader of a group of hired killers operating in Batangas province was arrested Thursday in Taysan town.
The Batangas police, in a report, identified the suspect as Benjamin Bautista, resident of Taysan.
The police, armed with a search warrant, swooped down Thursday morning on the house of Bautista in Barangay Tilambo and found two .45 caliber pistols, several magazines, and ammunition.
The police tagged Bautista, a retired government employee, as the head of the “Bautista gun-for-hire gang” that operates in the province.
Bautista is facing corresponding criminal charges, police said.
