Queen City United eyes 2nd win in UFL today

/ 08:25 AM February 18, 2012

THE odds seem to be against the Cebu Queen City United Football Club (CQCU FC) as they go up against the Dolphins United FC at the Turf at Bonifacio Global City in the United Football League (UFL) Second Division Tournament.

Head coach Mario Ceniza said the Dolphins is a strong team and lost to Pachanga FC only by a point. The team also blanked Agila FC, 2-0, a team which edged CQCU FC, 2-1.

The Cebu team will be eyeing its second win and will be hard pressed to clinch it as it had no proper practice because of the constant rains this week.

CQCU FC will also be missing three of its key players in forward Junard Aguilar, defender Adlai Marcel Rivera and midfielder Julius Acre.

FEATURED STORIES

Aguilar cannot make it because of his job, Rivera can’t play because of the red card he received last weekend and Acre will not be allowed to play because he has been missing practices. As a team policy, a player will not be allowed to play if he has been missing a lot of team practices.

Playing in place of the three are forward Benedict Luis Arriola, and midfielders Christian Delan and Carlito “Shaq” Abadia Jr.

On top of those woes, Ceniza said they would also adjust to the field at Global City since it is bigger. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
