Motorcycle driver dead in Batangas truck-motorcycle collision

LUCENA CITY––A motorcycle driver died in a collision on Wednesday, Aug. 25, in Lipa City, police said Thursday.

The Lipa police reported that Jon Elcied Navoa was driving his motorcycle when he collided with an oncoming truck. A vehicle behind dragged him.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the Lipa-Cuenca road in Barangay Pinagtongulan of the city.

Police said the motorcycle overtook a public utility jeep (PUJ), but it instead hit the front left bumper of the truck from the opposite direction. The truck was driven by Melchor Borje.

Navoa and his motorcycle were dragged by the PUJ driven by Saturnino Magnaye, who was traveling behind the victim.

Navoa suffered grave injuries and died on the spot, police said.
