DPWH completes two Covid-19 facilities in Iloilo City
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced Monday the completion of two Covid-19 facilities in Iloilo City.
DPWH Secretary and isolation czar Mark Villar said the Covid-19 facilities at Barangay Sooc, Arevalo district in Iloilo City include a quarantine facility for city coronavirus patients and a separate off-site dormitory for use of medical personnel.
The quarantine facility has 16 air-conditioned rooms, each equipped with one bed and a comfort room, which can house a total of 16 coronavirus patients. The facility also has a nurse station, male and female nurse quarters, and sanitation area.
Likewise, the off-site dormitory has 16 air-conditioned rooms with two beds and a toilet each. This building can accommodate a total of 32 medical frontliners in the city.
The facility is also provided with an air-conditioned lobby with living and dining areas, as well as a kitchen, laundry room, and sanitary area equipped with necessary amenities.
Both facilities likewise have generators set to ensure uninterrupted power supply and for emergency situations preventing any electrical disruption that may be critical to medical professionals’ Covid-19 response.
