WATCH: Valenzuela exec goes to NLEX Corp amid reports of continued toll charges despite suspension order

MANILA, Philippines — A Valenzuela City government official on Wednesday went to NLEX Corp’s Mindanao Harbor Link to validate reports that motorists were still being charged by the toll operator despite the suspension of its business permit by Mayor Rex Gatchalian.

Ulysses Aguilar, chief of staff of Gatchalian, said their office received complaints that NLEX Corp. still charges motorists even when the suspension order states that “motorists can still pass through the NLEX system but toll fees will no longer be collected.”

Gatchalian suspended NLEX Corp’s business permit amid the traffic mess allegedly caused by the toll operator’s RFID system.
