32 teams to see action in 13th BTA Sinulog tilt

THIRTY-TWO teams from various parts of the country will compete in today’s 13th Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) Cebu Sinulog Open at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad.

The tournament will kick off at 7 p.m. starting with the teams event.

Elite bowling teams from Lipa, Batangas, Cavite, Manila, Davao and Iloilo will be joining this event.

Adding spice to the tournament will be the presence of Philippine team bowlers Biboy Rivera, Bensier Layoso and Liza Clutario, who are expected to be the tournament’s tough contenders.

The contest will be sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC). The tournament will have three-man team, singles and masters categories.

Defending champion in the masters event is Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association’s former president Tony Ynoc.

He will be competing anew this year for the chance to bag the P50,000 purse at stake in the category. The winning team, on the other hand, will bring home P9,000. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
