Hospitals in North get COVID-19 funding from PCSO
TUGUEGARAO CITY—The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Cagayan has allocated P30-million in financial assistance to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CMVC) in the fight against COVID-19.
Heherson Pambid, PCSO Cagayan provincial manager, said the fund would be used to buy testing kits, medical supplies, clinical and diagnostic equipment.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers and costs of confinement and lab tests for patients are also covered by the financing aid.
Pambid and Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, CVMC hospital director, signed a memorandum of agreement for the grant on Monday (April 13).
Pambid said his agency also gave P2.5-million each to other hospitals in Nueva Vizcaya province.
It also released P1 million each to provincial hospitals operating in the Cordillera provinces of Apayao and Kalinga.

The PCSO has donated 25 “patient transport” vehicles to the Cagayan towns of Santa Ana, Lasam, Santa Teresita, Pamplona and Gonzaga, Pambid said.
