Angat, 6 other dams’ water level rises amid rains

MANILA, Philippines – Angat Dam’s water level rose further on Sunday, largely due to rainy weather the past few days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

As of 6:00 a.m., Sunday, Pagasa said the water level at Angat Dam is at 174.13 meters, 1.82 meters higher than the 172.31- meter water level reported on Saturday morning.

Angat Dam in Bulacan is the main source of water for Metro Manila Residents.

Water level in several other dams in the country also rose, including La Mesa Dam, Ambuklao Dam, Binga Dam, San Roque Dam, Pantabangan Dam, and Caliraya Dam.

There was, however, a slight decrease in water level in Ipo Dam and Magat Dam, the state weather bureau reported.

Pagasa said Luzon and Visayas, including Metro Manila, will experience rain showers due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms on Sunday. /gsg
