3 cops killed, 3 others wounded in Camarines Sur ambush
LEGAZPI CITY – Three policemen were killed, while three others were wounded when unidentified armed men attacked them while on security escort in Lupi town in Camarines Sur Thursday morning.
Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, said the policemen were providing security escort for Food and Drug Administration Director General Nela Charade Puno.
From the airport in Pili, Camarines Sur, the group was headed to Daet, Camarines Norte, when armed men fired at them in Barangay Napolidan at around 9:10 a.m.
Calubaquib said Puno, who was in another vehicle, was unharmed.
Police identified those killed in the ambush as: SPO1 Percival Rafael, PO3 Carlito Navarroza, and PO1 Ralph Jason Vida.
Wounded were PO1 Jonathan Perillo, PO1 Ruby Buena, and PO1 Rodolfo Gonzaga. /je
