Two gang members die in police encounter in QC
Two alleged members of the “Estribo” robbery gang died in an encounter with the police in Quezon City on Thursday.
Police said a concerned citizen reported that at about 1 a.m., four armed men were lurking along Aurora Boulevard, which prompted authorities to conduct surveillance in the area.
The suspects drew guns and opened fire upon sensing the presence of authorities, according to a report from the Quezon City Police District.
Police retaliated which killed the two suspects, while the two others fled on board a motorcycle and evaded arrest.
Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operatives and the Criminal Investigation Detention Unit recovered from the scene of the encounter two caliber .38 revolvers and three sachets of “shabu.”
Police described one of the killed suspects to be in his early 50’s, about 5’4” in height, and wore black t-shirt, black pants and a red helmet. The other suspect, meanwhile, was in his early 40’s and was 5’7’’ in height and wore gray t-shirt and short pants. /cbb
