Sara Duterte’s Hugpong pledges P1M cash assistance to QC, Pampanga

The Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HnP) announced on Monday that it would give P1 million cash assistance each to Quezon City and Pampanga to help their constituents affected by the flooding.

HnP founder and presidential daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio said that the newly formed alliance agreed to contribute to provide assistance to the affected families.

“We need to help, especially kanina nandito yung local government unit ng Quezon City, eh madami silang evacuees sa baha and then we also have the province of Pampanga na lubog sa baha,” Duterte-Carpio said in an interview.

 “So I asked them if they can help our partners and they readily said yes, so naka-collect tayo ng P1 million for the province of Pampanga and then we gave another million to the City of Quezon,” she added.

The HnP is a regional party for the Davao region established by Duterte-Carpio early this year. She is also the incumbent Davao City mayor.

Duterte-Carpio entrusted the P1 million cash assistance to Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda.

According to the Davao mayor, the cash assistance was named under Bautista and Pineda since it was “private money.”

She also apologized for the timing of the signing of the alliance agreement following the unfavorable weather condition in Metro Manila.

She said that she thought of canceling the event but some individuals complained since they already paid for the trip to Manila.

Present during the signing of the alliance agreement were Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, Senator Cynthia Villar, and Zamboanga del Norte Representative Seth Frederick Jalosjos, among others. /ee
