Cook killed, 2 others hurt in shooting at wedding banquet in Isabela
CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — A cook was shot dead while two of his companions were wounded when armed men fired at a wedding banquet in Centro-San Antonio village on Tuesday (May 8), police said.
Arthur Mata succumbed to two bullet wounds in the abdomen.
Mata, Primar Baje and Alberto Viernes were cooking food when they were attacked.
Baje and Viernes suffered leg wounds and were being treated at the community hospital here, according to Supt. Rafael Pagalilauan, Ilagan police chief.
Police said the attack was not random and investigators were checking if the victims were targeted due to a personal grudge. VILLAMOR VISAYA JR./lb
