Suspect in Caloocan taxi robberies arrested
The suspect in the Jan. 18 taxi robbery that left the driver wounded in Caloocan City last week was arrested by the police on Tuesday night, shortly after he victimized another cabbie. Marvin Brillabrille, 23, is facing charges for robbery-holdup with frustrated murder after taking at least P3,000 in cash from driver Pedro Pedroso in Barangay Bagong Barrio, Caloocan.
Police said Brillabrille and his accomplice, identified as Cholo Ling, were the same duo who last week robbed taxi driver Bernardino Nelson, 56, and left him with at least 20 stab wounds.
Ling remained at large.
Around midnight Tuesday, Brillarille and Ling hailed Pedroso’s cab at Centris Station in Quezon City and asked to be brought to Bagong Barrio, according to the case investigator PO1 Bengie Nalogoc.
They later held Pedroso at knifepoint to take his day’s earnings and car keys.
A police team later found Brillabrille eating at a fast food restaurant near the barangay hall where Pedroso had sought help. —Krixia Subingsubing
