Taguig, Makati students bag 245 medals in int’l math tilt

Thirty-nine students from Makati City and 17 from Taguig City bagged awards in the recent 13th International Mathematics Contest in Singapore where the Philippine team got the most medals.

The Philippine contingent bagged 245 medals (33 gold, 66 silver, 146 bronze) and 111 merit awards. China ranked second while Thailand placed third.

Three Makati Science High School (MSHS) students won gold medals: Al Patrick Castro, Deanne Gabrielle Algenio and Reighne Clarence Evangelista.

Silver medalists were Mark Andrei Elpedes, Miguel Angelo Gomez, Jan Paul Aplacador, Riana Francine Tario, Albert Timothy Go, Shazel Catherine Policarpio, all of MSHS; and a student of San Antonio National High School, Rafael Oliveros.
