1-Pacman’s Save a Heart program brings back joy to the purest of hearts
Children have the purest of hearts. But when they are troubled by illnesses, adults with the best intentions to bring back joy to these kids come to their rescue.
For nine years now, the 1-Pacman party-list has been attending to the medical needs of children with congenital heart conditions in partnership with the Philippine Heart Center (PHC).
To date, 1-Pacman’s Save a Heart program has reached some 2,000 beneficiaries, providing assistance such as diagnostics, surgeries, and post-operative care.
“Children with heart problems need urgent care. We know how heart-breaking it is for their parents and families to see the helpless ones grapple with their ailments,” said 1-Pacman Rep. Mikee Romero, who initiated the program at the onset of his term at the House of Representatives.

Childhood is the time of life when people are most influenced or shaped. Enjoying childhood is a gift but has become a quest for those with congenital heart conditions.
Over the years, 1-Pacman party-list has also been holding Christmas celebrations with the kids and their families in coordination with the PHC’s social services team.
Romero’s wife Sheila and their children, including Milka Romero, who is now 1-Pacman chairman and first nominee, have helped out in spreading cheers.
Milka said that at an early age, she already witnessed the blossoming of the partnership with the PHC, and looks forward to its continuation in the coming years.
