Charges filed vs 4 nabbed for holding 45 kilos of shabu in QC

The Philippine National Police’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit filed charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act against four individuals arrested Nov. 15 in Quezon City in possession of at least 45 kilos of metamphetamine hydrochloride (“shabu”).

Facing a complaint for violation of Section 11 for Possession of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002  were Eduardo Dario, Rea Mae Libiran, John Rey Bungcasan and Gemmarose Codera.

They were arrested after authorities implemented a search warrant issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 97.

During the search, the police found five packs of shabu inside the Mitsubishi Fuzion parked at the house’s garage, 27 packs of suspected activated charcoal, weighing scales and 25 packs of shabu inside a black Samsonite luggage.

The suspects were taken to the Department of Justice Wednesday evening to undergo inquest proceeding but they insisted on hiring a private lawyer.

Inquest proceeding was rescheduled to Thursday. CDG/rga
