45 kilos of shabu seized in QC, 4 nabbed

Police arrested four individuals for possessing at least 45 kilos of metamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” in a residential area in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon.

Acting on a search warrant issued by a Quezon City court, members of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP AIDG), Quezon City police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a house along Banawe Street in Barangay (village) Manresa around 3:30 p.m.

Authorities found a brown cardboard box containing approximately 45 kilos of suspected shabu, 27 packs of activated carbon, two weighing scales and a black Mitsubishi Fusion with plate number TQJ 847, in the said residence.

A report from the AIDG identified the arrested persons as: Eduardo Dario, 62, Marikina City resident; Rhea May Libira, 20, native of Balagtas, Bulacan; Gemma Rose Codera, 26, native of Masbate; John Rey Bungcasan, 34, native of Dumaguete City.

Dario, Libira, Codera and Bungcasan have been brought to the AIDG headquarters at Camp Crame, Quezon City to undergo booking procedures for violating Section 11 of Republic Act no. 9165.
