LUCENA CITY, Philippines — Three burnt human heads were found by village watchmen in Mulanay town in Quezon province on Monday morning, police said.

Senior Insp. Bonna Abuyan-Obmerga, Mulanay police chief, said watchmen first found a head in Barangay Cambuga at 10 a.m.and started a widespread search for its body.

Instead of finding a body, they found a sack that contained two more burnt heads nearby.

At about noon, a team of watchmen and policemen found a body part in the same village, about a kilometer away from where the three heads were found.

Obmerga said what the team found was a charred portion “from the waist down.”

“The torso is still missing,” she said.

Obmerga said the local police have not received any report on missing persons in the town recently.

“Nevertheless, I’ve already alerted all barangay officials on the discovery,” Obmerga said.

She said the Mulanay police reported its findings to police stations in nearby towns to help identify the victims.

On Monday afternoon, Obmerga said she received an information that four men were reported missing in Calauag town, also in Quezon.

Chief Insp. Michael Encio, Calauag police chief, confirmed Obmerga’s information.

Encio said relatives of the four men went to the local police station on Monday to report that they went missing on Sunday.

The village of Cambuga is in the boundary of Mulanay and San Narciso towns. It is seven kilometers away from the Mulanay town center.
