SANTA BARBARA, Pangasinan – A woman and her 7-year-old son drowned on Wednesday (Sept. 21) in a swamp at the back of their house.

Juvilyn Benitez, 24, was trying to save her son Jovan, a Grade 2 pupil, when she, too, sank in a deep portion of the swamp in Barangay (village) Ventenilla at 2:15 p.m., said Chief Inspector Rex Infante, police chief.
