CITY OF ILAGAN — Fully-grown marijuana plants worth P866.5 million were uprooted and burned last week in a police operation at Mt. Chumanchil in Kalinga’s Tinglayan town.

The marijuana plantation growing on a 183,500-square-meter farm was destroyed by a composite team from the Cordillera police, the Philippine Army and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), said Juvenal Azurin, PDEA Cordillera director on Sunday.

The latest marijuana eradication drive took place from August 15 to August 19. No arrests were reported. JE/rga
