REINA MERCEDES, Isabela – A local trader was shot dead on Monday night (Aug. 15) by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay (village) Tallungan during a drinking session with his friends.

Kokrit Verzola, 37, was shot repeatedly by the gunmen who drove off in a motorcycle that had no plate numbers, said Chief Insp. Edgar Pattaui, Reina Mercedes town police chief.

Pattaui said Verzola had been on the local drug watch list but investigators were also probing a personal grudge as a motive for the attack because Verzola had been quarreling with an uncle.
