DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines—A priest accidentally killed the passenger of a tricycle on Friday night, when his utility van sideswiped the public utility vehicle along a national road here.

Fr. Santiago Casing, 40, was driving the van that struck the tricycle driven by Christopher Baniqued, 36, at 10:20 p.m.

The tricycle crashed onto an electric post, while its side car carrying a passenger, Jeremiah Cerezo, was thrown off and hit a parked car, said Supt. Jackie Candelario, provincial police spokesperson.
