SC grants 1st tranche of gov’t workers’ salary increase
The Supreme Court has granted the first tranche of salary increases under Executive Order (EO) 201, Associate Justice Jose Perez announced during his speech at the Philippine Association of Court Employees (PACE) National Convention.
EO 201 which was signed by President Benigno Aquino early this year modified the salary schedule for civilian government personnel and authorized the grant of additional benefits for both civilian and military and uniformed personnel (MUP).

The EO was issued after Congress failed to pass the proposed Salary Standardization Law of 2015.
Because of the deadlock, the proposed law failed to pass Congress.
Aside from the salary increase, Perez also updated the employees on medical benefits and creation of family courts.

The Confederation for Unity, Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees (Courage) said EO 201 provides for a measly P500 a month or P20 a day increase. CDG
