Marawi City mayor—Alma Moreno’s ex-husband—wounded in ambush
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Unidentified van-riding armed men ambushed and wounded Marawi City Mayor Fahad Salic, the former husband of actress Alma Moreno, and his driver here early Saturday, authorities said.
But Salic and his driver, identified as Tayrudin Bunting, are now in stable condition at an undisclosed hospital, said Insp. Ronald del Leon, the spokesperson of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) police on Saturday.
De Leon said Salic was on the car being driven by Bunting when fired at near Pryce Plaza on Mastersons Ave. here around 2 a.m.
It was not immediately known what Salic was doing in the city at the time of the ambush.
De leon said Salic was hit on the buttocks, right leg and upper back, while Bunting sustained a bullet wound in the face.
“They are now in stable condition,” he said.

He is pitted against House deputy speaker Pangalian Balindong, who is running as independent; incumbent governor Mamintal Adiong Jr.’s mother, Soraya of the Liberal Party; Ahmadjan Abdulcarim, Jahl Lucman and Abdulfatah Sarip.
Salic married Moreno in a Muslim rite in Cebu City on March 21, 2009 after courting her for nearly three years after a meeting at a convention of the Philippine Councilors League. Moreno was a Parañaque councilor.
Their marriage ended in a divorce in 2014.
They have a son named Alfah, who carries his father’s name.
