Poe vows to jail more corrupt leaders

Poll frontrunner Senator Grace Poe showed a tougher side during the second presidential debate held in Cebu City on Sunday, saying that if she wins the presidency, she would open more jails where she would detain corrupt leaders.

In her closing statement, Poe said that any member of her family will not engage in any dealings with the government

“Dadamihan ko ang mga preso kung saan ang mga tiwali sa gobyerno ay ilalagay ko mismo doon—kaaway man o kaalyado,” Poe said.

(I will build more jails where corrupt government officials will be detained—whether they are my enemies or allies.)

She also said that she will appoint Col. Ariel Querubin as a “crime czar” in her administration to stamp out illegal drugs in the country.

Poe also bared the projects that she intends to implement in the Visayas such as the building of three bridges linking Mactan and Cebu; Iloilo City and Guimaras; and Guimaras and the Negros Island.

She also pushed for the building of more dams and implementation of projects which will benefit fishermen and farmers.
