Binay on UP Cebu debate: I did not put my alma mater down
CEBU CITY—Vice President Jejomar Binay on Sunday said he did not put his alma mater down despite taking a brunt of punches thrown by his presidential opponents during the second “PiliPinas” presidential debate here.
Binay walked out of the stage right after the debate ended in the University of the Philippines Cebu.
Ambushed by reporters, Binay only said: “Basta ang sasabihin ko (All I can say is), I did not put down my alma mater, the University of the Philippines.”
Binay took his undergraduate degree in Political Science and his Bachelor of Laws at the University of the Philippines.
He said he would deliver a press conference on Monday.
Binay took the brunt from all his three rivals—Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Grace Poe and former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II—of allegations of corruption during his 20-year rule as Makati mayor. RAM
